2011 Faculty Research Grants Recipients

The GCAGS Faculty Grant Committee received a total of five research proposals from five schools for the 2011 grant program. After careful review of all proposals, the two top-rated applicants were Nicole M. Gasparini (No. 1 Ranking) from Tulane University and Franklin T. Heitmuller (No. 2 Ranking) from the University of Southern Mississippi. Therefore, the Faculty Grant Committee is recommending the following funding:

$10,000—Nicole M. Gasparini, “Quantifying Fault-related Subsidence Rates and Landscape Response to Faulting in Southeastern Louisiana,”

and

$5,000—Franklin T. Heitmuller, “Susceptibility of Southeast Mississippi Fluvial Systems to Historical and Contemporary Logging.”
