There are no nomination forms for certain awards, such as the Don R. Boyd Medal for Excellence in Gulf Coast Geology, the Special Commendation Award, and the Statesmanship Award.  Please contact the GCAGS Awards & Nominations Chairman for information on nominations for these awards.

Each nomination for an award in the Special Awards and the Educational Awards categories should be accompanied by a letter of endorsement from the affiliated society or member making the nomination.

GCAGS encourages its affiliated societies to also nominate their members for AAPG awards.  Please visit the AAPG website (www.aapg.org) for the descriptions, requirements, and forms for AAPG award nominations.  Nominations for AAPG awards do not require GCAGS approval.  However, GCAGS will consider endorsing an AAPG award nominee if the nominating Society submits such a request to the GCAGS Awards & Nominations Chairman at least 30 days prior to the AAPG nomination deadline.  Please also note that nominations for the AAPG Excellence in Teaching Award are handled through a process and on a timeline different from that for other awards.

The deadline for all 2023 GCAGS Award Nominations is February 13, 2023.

GCAGS will not be awarding Student or Faculty Grants in 2023.
